“I have the sweetest mom one could ask for”
Not only is she my mom, but she is one of my closest friends. The days are just wrong if I don’t at least talk to her on the phone. She is strong and independent and has a great sense of humor (which I inherited!) Over the years, my friends have adopted her as their mom also and have even told me to invite her along with us on our hanging out time. Now, if that’s not a cool mom, I don’t know what is.
I was lucky enough that she was able to stay at home and raise us kids until I was 14 years old. Looking back on my childhood, she is always there. She became one of the first people I would turn to for advice, prayer or a hug. She taught me all her ‘home ec’ knowledge and shared stories of her own childhood in Oklahoma and California. She has an ‘Okie’ accent with some words – and apparently I’ve picked up some of those as well!
She has turned the hardships in her life into a strong faith and foundation for her family to lean on.
So Happy Birthday mom – I hope you have felt all the love we hold for you. I pray blessings for you in the coming years. And don’t forget – I love you more. (hehe)
THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER KIND WORDS…………Yes, I know I am loved, but it is so very nice to hear it (or see it in print)………and I love you “the mo stest”
